We may be far from Groundhog Day, but the winter predictions from The Farmers’ Almanac and The Old Farmer’s Almanac have been talked about in hushed tones since late 2021.
A Winter Weather Whirlwind
Was your New Years Resolution to work out and lose weight or get stronger? Then you’ll be happy to hear that you won’t need a gym membership! AccuWeather confirmed the almanac predictions for a “frigid January, a slight thaw in February, then a returning blast of cold air and a threat of nor’easters late in the season” which means winter will be especially harsh. The almanacs say to expect a stormy January in our service areas and along the coast with a quiet February to give us all a fall sense of security before a “winter whopper” In all, we can expect a winter that’s similar to 2021 with near-record setting snowfall since the record began in 1971.
How To Prepare
What does this all mean for you? It means checking your equipment is long past due.
If you’re missing shovels, grab a pair of the metal-tipped variety to better scrape ice from your driveways and sidewalks. Are you fortunate to have a snowblower? Check that you have plenty of surplus gas and that everything is in good working condition. If there’s another snowstorm dropping 20 inches this season, you won’t want to be caught unprepared.
Do you have an emergency? Are you unable to remove your own snow for any reason including not wanting to get out of your pajamas? Call Mountain Road Landscaping for all your snow removal needs.
